About Hungry Garden

The Hungry Garden is a blog-enabled map and search engine that allows anyone, anywhere in the world to "own" a geographical address as recognized by Google Maps.  At a location users can create one or more blogs about a variety of subjects (called channels) and share their location and content with friends and neighbors.


It's free, easy-to-use and only takes moments to sign-up with immediate access to all features.


GeoSocial Network Software


With Hungry Garden you can restrict access to your content to other users that have set their location within a specified geographic radius in miles of your location.  The minimum access is users within a 1/4 mile of you.  The maximum is within 50 miles of your location.


Privacy Settings


The software allows you to hide your street address from your friends or other users but still allow them to see the city and state where you are located.  Or, you can hide your location and content from all users so no one can see where you are or find your location or content when searching the Hungry Garden web site.  Hiding is a useful feature when you do not want to receive blog comments for a period of time.


Blog Platform


Blogging on Hungry Garden is a quick and easy way to to publish content that is associated with a location on a Google map.  The software allows others to leave comments regarding your content.  It is easy to update or delete the information you publish using the Hungry Garden blog software.


Subject Channels


All blogs at Hungry Garden are classified by channel subjects.  Each post to a blog is automatically classified by its blog channel subject.  This makes adding and finding information about a location easy.  The current Hungry Garden main channels are; Food, News, Advocate/Organize, Coupon/Sales, Share/Barter/Trade, Expertise Offered/Wanted, For sale, Looking to Buy, Donations, Help Wanted/Offered, Volunteering, Housing, Personals, Miscellaneous/Other.


All individual posts can also be tagged using tag words.


Location-based Search Engine


All blogs are found at a location on a map that is associated with a physical address as recognized by Google Maps' software.  Visitors to Hungry Garden can browse blogs within 50 miles of a location using Hungry Garden's channel menu which is a way to browse content by subject.  Or blogs can be searched using Hungry Gardens quick or advanced search feature.


Address Verification


Registered user that want to enhance their GeoSocial reputation can voluntarily "verify" their ownership of an address by allowing Hungry Garden to place a small charge (under $3 USD) on a credit card where the billing address of the card matches their Hungry Garden Google Map address.  These accounts are verified and other users can take some comfort in the knowledge that verfied user do reside, or work, at a verified address.


Initial Release and User Participation

This is release 1.0 initial release of the Hungry Garden GeoSocial Network software.  We'll be adding features and capabilities based upon user feed back.  Please use the contact form or contact user: HungryGardener under your Friends Tab Menu to provide feedback or suggestions.
